The B series toroidal current transducers, designed to be combined with the D series transducers in applications with type B differential relays model DER3BDUAL and DER3BMED, detect zero-sequence/differential currents dispersed towards earth. In addition to the normal leakage current measurement winding, they are also equipped with a test winding.
The transducers must be installed upstream of the line or loads to be protected and monitored. All the active conductors (phase and neutral) of the single-phase or three-phase lines must pass inside.
Series B uses a special magnetic alloy for its toroidal transducers, in doing so, the ferromagnetic core is able to guarantee broad magnetic qualities and detect even very low fault current values.
Each transducer is tested and tested individually through a highly selective computerized system that fully evaluates the quality (total compliance with the technical characteristics) and safety of the product.
